The Park District hires staff for numerous seasonal and part-time positions throughout the year, with most of our summer seasonal hiring occurring from January through June. Volunteer Information The Morton Grove Park District relies on volunteers for the success of its Recreation and Athletic Programs. Volunteer applications can be filled out at the Park District's Prairie View Community Center, 6834 Dempster Street, Monday-Thursday, from 5:30 am-10 pm, Friday, from 5:30am- 9 pm and weekends, 7 am-5 pm. Please note that depending on the volunteer position you may be required to successfully complete a criminal background investigation as part of the Volunteer Application process. Numerous volunteer opportunities exist within the Park District, including: Halloween Family Fesitival (October 24, 2009), Youth Basketball (December 2009-March 2010), Prairie View 5K Run (April 18, 2010) and the Morton Grove Fourth of July Festival (July 2-4, 2010). Athletic Coaches Coaches and Assistant Coaches are needed for the Boy's and Girl's Basketball programs (December-March). AYSO and MGBSA also need volunteers for their respective seasons. Go to LINKS on home page to find Morton Grove Baseball and Softball Association(MGBSA) and Morton Grove AYSO.
Maine-Niles Association for Special Recreation M-NASR seeks people who are willing to be called on to work various hours integrating individuals with special needs into Park District programs. M-NASR provides the necessary training and supervision of volunteers.
Special Events The Park District utilizes volunteers for various special events such as Halloween Festival, Prairie View 5K Run and Morton Grove Days Fourth of July Festival.

Accepting Applications for Director Position The Director is a highly responsible professional and administrative position serving as the Chief Operating Officer of the Morton Grove Park District. The Director is responsible for overseeing all operations of the District so as to provide responsive recreational programs and maintain quality park facilities for the citizens of the District in a manner that is fiscally responsible and provides opportunity for fitness, fun, and development of skills for all. The Director is appointed by the Board of Park Commissioners, which establishes policy for the District and provides general direction to the Director. The Director reports to the Board of Park Commissioners.
The District is seeking an individual who has 5 years of previous experience as a senior management professional with administrative, managerial, financial and operational competencies. A master’s degree is preferred, however, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience will be considered.
To receive consideration, the applicant’s file must contain the following information:
• Formal letter of application indicating reasons you desire to be a candidate. • Current resume including, but not limited to, employment history, duties, number of employees supervised. • Complete list of accomplishments/completed projects • Provide at least three current letters of recommendation, should include employers and employees. • Three professional references with complete name, address, and phone number. These references need to be different from those providing letters of recommendation. • Salary history for the past 5 years • Complete set of up-to-date credential which includes legal proof verifying any educational degrees. • Written permission to contact past employers and written permission to have a criminal background check, and credit history check.

Facility Supervisor - Fitness Morton Grove Park District is accepting applications for Facility Supervisor through March 18, 2010. The position will work second shift and is responsible for Club Fitness (5000 square foot fitness center) and all services associated with operation (Customer Service, Gymnasium, Kids Center) and part-time staff which supports areas. Member recruitment and retention is a primary task including marketing and promotion. Additional responsibility is Adult Fitness - continued development and supervision of staff and classes. Applicant must possess a Bachelors Degree in Recreation, Physical Education, Fitness or equivilant and minimum of 3 years experience related to facility management and fitness. AFAA or equivilent certification is desired and CPRP is preferred. Position is full-time with benefits. Salary range $38,000-$42,000.
