Redevelopment of Frank Hren Park

The Morton Grove Park District received a grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources Open Space Land Acquisition Program in the amount of $400,000 to redevelop Frank Hren Park. MGPD anticipates construction on the park located behind Golf Junior High School to begin this fall and completion dates for the summer of 2009. The opening of the park is scheduled for fall 2009. The Avon Corporation, Morton Grove Youth Soccer Association (AYSO) and Morton Grove Baseball and Softball Association (MGBSA) are supporting the project. Parent Tot Open Swim at Harrer Pool

You asked for it -- here it is! Harrer Pool's wading pool and Parrot Bay (spray ground) will be open Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays 10-11:45am June 16 through August 8 for children under the age of 5 with an adult. The cost is $2.00 per child or free for season pass holders. Ratio is 3 children per adult.

ORIOLE POOL:
Fridays, June 27 & August 8 -- FLOAT THEN FLICK NIGHTS
Come enjoy an evening of swimming then stay for a movie on the big screen. Swimming hours 6:30-8:30 and movie begins at 8:45pm. Option to pay evening swim rates or use season pass for entry. The concession stand will be open during the movie. Patrons watch the movie from deck - swimming is prohibited during the movie. June 27 -- Curious George and August 8 -- Shark Tale

HARRER POOL:
Friday, July 4 -- POOL PASS ADVANTAGE SWIM 10am-12pm
Season pass holders are invited to take a dip in the pool the morning of the 4th. This is an exclusive for season pass holders.
Friday, August 22 -- BACK TO SCHOOL TEEN POOL BASH 5:30-7:30pm
Whew summer is coming to a close and school is opening. Enjoy a last gasp of summer for teens entering 6-9th grades. DJ will be there to play requests and lead activities and pizza & drinks will be served. Fee is $5.00.

Preschool Registration In Progress

Registration for the 2008-09 preschool is progress. There are still spaces available in classes offered for children 3 and 4 years old (age as of September 1, 2008). If you are interested in observing a class, contact Liz Goodwin at 847-965-1200 ext. 3009. The 2008-09 school year marks the 50th anniversary for the program. 2008 PV5K Race/Walk
