Let Morton Grove Park District Host Your Next Birthday Party Does your child have a birthday coming up and the thought of having it in your house is not appealing??? Morton Grove offers seven different parties to choose for your child's special day. Pirate Party for ages 4-9 years; Old Fashioned Fun for 4-13 years; Sports Galore for 5-12 years; Amazing Adventures for 5-9 years; Tropical Luau for 5-10 years; Dino Dynamics for 4-9 years; Your Majesty for 2-6 years and Tot-Land for 6 months to 4 years. Indoor Cycle Returns to Morton Grove Park District Mark your calendars - Morton Grove Park District is offering a week of FREE cycle classes March 15-20 for members and guests to test our new Keiser M3 cycles and new instructors Valerie Green, Beth Jacobson and Marie Winder. New session of fitness classes begin March 21 for six week session. Cycle is a great low impact workout where you control the intensity. You are in control of speed and resistence - all fitness levels will be successful. Class times listed below: Mondays: 6:00-7:00am Marie & 5:30-6:30pm Beth & 6:35-7:35pm Valerie Tuesdays: 9:45-10:45am Marie Wednesdays: 6:00-7:00am Marie Thursdays: 9:45-10:45am Marie & 5:45-6:45pm Valerie
Space is limited so get to class early to reserve your Ride. Walk-in fee $10 per class and $58 for six week session. Check with Customer Service for more information.
Search for Director begins The Board of Commissioners have begun a search to fill the Director position. The search began January 17. See Employment section of this website for requirements and application process.
Fitness Upgrade Available for Club Fitness Memberships Club Fitness members have the option of adding the "Fitness Upgrage" to their annual membership which provides unlimited fitness classes. When you "Upgrade" your membership for an additional $100 you will be able to attend unlimited fitness classes with the exception of Yoga and Aquacize - a great value! Note - Fitness Upgrades must be purchased at time of purchase or renewal - Upgrade renewal date is the same as your membership. A sticker will be placed on the back of your membership card to be verified when you attend classes. Ask a Customer Service Representative for more details.
Preschool Registration In Progress Registration for the 2010-2011 school year began on February 15. Class placement determined by age as of September 1, 2010. Options for 2, 3 and 4 year olds. When registering must present birth certificate (copy can be made at time of registration) and complete form packet. The Morton Grove Park District utilizes parent helpers in each class and families must agree to provide assistance throughout the school year. Club Fitness Introduces Refer A Friend Program Good health and fitness are essential but it is hard to get motivated some days to go work out by yourself. We understand that and know it is easier when you exercise with a friend. Club Fitness will award annual members with an additional month to their membership if a "friend" joins the Club on their recommendation. Ask Customer Service for details - the friend must purchase an annual membership and a "refer a friend" form must be completed. This offer is only for NEW members/friends.
Upcoming Winter Special Events The snow is flying and the temperature is cold so come out for some indoor fun. All events are held at Prairie View Community Center, 6834 Dempster Street.
Mom & Son Animal Adventure - Friday, March 12 from 6:30-8:30pm Come for an adventurous evening of meeting ten different animals up close and personal and learn facinating facts about each one. Before the show moms and sons will enjoy a pizza dinner including a delicious dessert. Appropriate for sons 4-12 years (with Mom). Resident fee $24/couple ($6 each additional son) and $32/non resident couple ($8 each additional son).
Eggstravaganza Egg Hunt - Friday, April 2 beginning at 11:00am The eggs are filled and ready to be found - grab your basket and come out to Prairie View Park for the annual egg hunt. Appropriate for children 3 to 10 years old. Call 847-965-1200 to reserve your space for this free event. Thank you to Georgia Nut Company and American Legion Post #134 for their generous support of this event. This event is limited to MORTON GROVE RESIDENTS ONLY.
Mother Daughter Tea Party - Sunday, April 11 from 4:00-5:30pm The annual event marks that spring has finally arrived. Join Donna Schutz for an afternoon of girl time. Fun, fashion and food are on the agenda for this event. Register today $17/resident couple ($6 each additional daughter) and $22/non-resident couple ($8 each additional daughter).
Family Garage Sale - Friday & Saturday, April 16 & 17 You asked for it - we listened the Family Garage Sale is now open two days to give sellers and buyers more opportunities. Friday, April 16 sellers will set-up and be ready for buyers from 5:30-9:00pm and then reopen Saturday, April 17 9:30am-2:30pm. You may reserve a table (limit one table) for $25 resident and $34 non-resident (non-residents may register after March 8 if space available). The sale will be advertised in newspaper and Craigs List. The event is FREE to shoppers and is held in the Gymnasium so weather is NEVER an issue.

How Are We Doing? On-line Survey The Morton Grove Park District invites you to let us know "How We Are Doing?" through a short on-line survey on our homepage (www.mortongroveparks.com). The survey can be used to evaluate programs and/or facilities as well as feedback on the park district. Your satisfaction is our goal so we need to hear from our users. Volunteers Needed for 2010 Prairie View 5K Race & Walk Not interested in running or walking 3.1 miles - well how about coming out to cheer on the 300+ participants who will be on Sunday, April 18th. Volunteers are needed for course marshalls, event tent, refreshments and more. This is great opportunity for community service hours - check in time is 6:30am and event wraps by 9:30am. The event begins and ends at Prairie View Park, 6834 Dempster Street, Morton Grove. If interested in volunteering contact Jen Tiltges at 847-965-1200 ext. 3022.
