NEW Fitness Class Membership Offered The Morton Grove Park District has listened - you asked for a fitness class membership and here it is. The NEW Fitness Stimulus Package (FSP) is designed for the adult fitness enthusiasts who want to attend classes (not the fitness club). For an annual fee of $259 the FSP membership provides over 20 classes a week to attend - you set your schedule. There are some exceptions which are indicated on the session class schedule. It's easy - purchase your membership and check-in at Customer Service Desk and then off to class. No registration for class, no walk-in or daily fee - convenient and affordable. A single class can cost up to $400 a year - with the FSP you get choice of classes for only $259.
August Fitness Special - One month $29.95 The dog days of summer are here - come in from the heat with a one-month membership to Club Fitness for low rate of $29.95 - a dollar a day! Purchase period is August 1-31 at Prairie View Community Center - home of Club Fitness.
Let Morton Grove Park District Host Your Next Birthday Party Does your child have a birthday coming up and the thought of having it in your house is not appealing??? Morton Grove offers nine different parties to choose for your child's special day. NEW Get Your Groove On for ages 5-15 yrs; Tot-Land for ages 6 months to 4 yrs; Your Majesty for ages 2-6 yrs; Dino-Dynamics for 4-9 yres; Old Fashioned Fun for 4-12 yrs; Pirate Party for ages 4-9 yrs; Amazing Adventures for ages 5-9yrs; Tropical Luau for ages 5-10 yrs; and Sports Galore for ages 5-12 yrs. Parties are 2 hours long (except Tot-Land which is 1.25 hours) and are held at Prairie View Community Center. For information or to book a party contact Liz Goodwin at 847-965-1200 ext. 3009. Plan ahead parties must be booked 3 weeks in advance.
Indoor Cycle Returns to Morton Grove Park District Morton Grove Park District is offering indoor cycling classes with new instructors Valerie Green, Marty Hedrick, Beth Jacobson and Marie Winder. Great introductory prices being offered. New session of fitness classes begin May 9 for six week session. Space available in current session - call for details. Cycle is a great low impact cardio workout where you control the intensity. You are in control of speed and resistence - all fitness levels will be successful. Class times listed below: Mondays: 5:30-6:30pm Beth Tuesdays: 9:45-10:45am Marie & 5:30-6:30pm Marty Wednesdays: 6:00-7:30pm Marty (Cycle Yoga) Thursdays: 9:45-10:45am Marie & 5:45-6:45pm Beth (Cycle Sport) Saturdays: 12:45-1:45pm Beth

Fitness Upgrade Available for Club Fitness Memberships Club Fitness members have the option of adding the "Fitness Upgrade" to their annual membership which provides unlimited fitness classes (some exceptions apply). When you "Upgrade" your membership for an additional $100 you will be able to attend unlimited fitness classes (some exceptions apply)- a great value! Note - Fitness Upgrades must be purchased at time of purchase or renewal - Upgrade renewal date is the same as your membership. A sticker will be placed on the back of your membership card to be verified when you attend classes. Ask a Customer Service Representative for more details.
Next Focus Group Meeting set for Monday, September 20 The second in series of Focus Meetings for residents to give feedback on Park District. The September 20 meeting will concentrate on operations including overall management of agency and its processes. The meeting is open to residents. If interested in participating contact Kelly Smith, Facility & Recreation Manager at ksmith@mortongroveparks.com by September 15. The first Focus Group meeting was held on May 3.
Modified Hours Begin August 16 The pools are open at the Morton Grove Park District with modified hours as the end of summer approaches. Harrer Pool, 6250 Dempster, and Oriole Pool, 9200 Oriole, August 23-27 4-8pm (NOTE: Harrer Pool may close earlier due to darkness and safety); August 28 & 29 12-7pm; closed August 30-September 3 with Labor Day weekend hours September 4-6 12-7pm. Proof of residency required to receive resident rates. Pools are staffed by trained lifeguards and have concession stands available on weekends until 5pm.
How Are We Doing? On-line Survey The Morton Grove Park District invites you to let us know "How We Are Doing?" through a short on-line survey on our homepage (www.mortongroveparks.com). The survey can be used to evaluate programs and/or facilities as well as feedback on the park district. Your satisfaction is our goal so we need to hear from our users. Morton Grove Tiger Sharks Place 2nd at NISC Championship The Morton Grove Park District swim team - Tiger Sharks placed 2nd in the 2010 Northern Illinois Swim Conference Championship meet on July 28. Congratulations to the swimmers and coaches Mike McGrath, Ashley Thielson, Andy Peterson, TJ Moran and Leonore Pagsajan-Moran on a great summer. The Sharks will be back in the water at Oriole Pool in June 2011 going for the gold! Look for information in the annual summer brochure - come join the fun!
