B4 & BASE (Best After School Experience)

Our school age childcare programs are designed as a recreational program that is a welcome change to your child's busy school day. Our morning care (B4) programs are an easy-going way to start your child's day. Children are encouraged to bring breakfast and enjoy quiet activities such as reading, arts and crafts and playing games. Low-contact sports are allowed, but limited. Both B4 and BASE activities may include and are not limited to: arts & crafts, sports & games, outdoor play, homework time, board & card games, and snack. Most of our children are registered for the entire year and may attend full or partial weeks. Children may enter the program at any time of the school year.

Flex Pass

This is a punch-card system designed to accommodate the occasional need for child care. A 5-punch Flex Pass is purchased at the PVCC and can be used anytime during the current school year. This is a very convenient and cost-effective option for those who need occasional care. The Flex Pass cannot be used towards Early Release or GAP Day programs and cannot be carried forward to the following school year.

Two Boys Celebrating

Kinder-Odyssey

The Morton Grove Park District is proud of our partnership with School Districts #63, #70 and #807 to offer a childcare and enrichment program for Kindergarten students at schools within their districts. The Kinder-Odyssey program combines childcare and curriculum enhancement opportunities and your child’s school experience will be enriched through a variety of dramatic play, science, math and literary activities. Our goal is to provide your family reliable and affordable options for children who need care beyond their class time. Parents will drop children off at program center with a bagged lunch daily. School Districts will provide transportation for children between care centers and home school at no additional fee. Options for extended childcare are available for an additional fee. Please contact Liz Goodwin at 847-965-1200 or via email at lgoodwin@mortongroveparks.com for additional information. All childcare subsidies are accepted.

Early Release Programs

These programs are offered at the individual schools on most school Early Release days. These programs run from the end of class time until 6:00 p.m. There is an additional fee for these programs. They are NOT included in the cost of the regular B4 or BASE programs. Please refer to the Fall Brochure for current school year dates as they apply to your child's school.

GAP Days - Click here to see upcoming dates

GAP Days are a full day of childcare from 7:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. This program takes place on most legal holidays and school breaks throughout the school year. The program takes place at the Prairie View Community Center. In addition to a vast array of activities at the PVCC, most days feature a unique fieldtrip that is included in the daily fee.

Who is eligible to participate?

Children in kindergarten through sixth grade enrolled in one of the schools listed above are welcome. Kindergartners are able to participate on a limited basis; morning kindergartners are eligible for before school care and afternoon kindergartners are eligible for after school care. Kindergartners in all-day school can participate in both B4 and BASE programs.
